AI Search Visibility for Taxi & Limo Companies (2026 Playbook)

August 14, 2026 · 8 min read

A growing share of high-value enquiries now starts inside an AI assistant: "who does executive airport transfers in Manchester?", "best limo company for a wedding near Omaha". If ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Claude cannot parse your site, you are absent from that answer — no matter how well you rank in classic search. Here is the structure those systems reliably extract, and how to check that you have it.

Structural must-haves on every page you want cited

  1. Bullet lists and numbered steps — the single most consistent feature of content that gets quoted.
  2. Clear H2 and H3 section headings that read as questions or tasks, not slogans.
  3. Named specifics — vehicle classes, cities, airports, tools and platforms you actually integrate with, such as WhatsApp and Stripe.
  4. Hard numbers — prices, minimums, waiting-time allowances, hours of coverage, licence fees.
  5. A comparison or evaluation framework, ideally as a table.
  6. A "how to choose" decision section for buying-intent pages.
  7. The year in the title for anything that dates, e.g. "(2026)".

Page-type checklist for a transport operator

Page typeQuestion it must answerRequired elements
Service pageWhat exactly do you do, where, and from what price?Coverage list, vehicle classes, price floor, booking steps
Airport transfer pageHow does meet-and-greet and waiting time work?Terminal list, name board policy, waiting allowance in minutes, flight-delay rule
Comparison pageHow do you differ from the alternatives?Table, pricing model, pros and limitations
Buying guideHow should I choose between options?Numbered criteria, scoring method, FAQ
Pricing pageWhat is the total cost?Explicit figures, what is excluded, maintenance terms

The technical layer

  • robots.txt — explicitly allow AI crawlers such as GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot and Google-Extended if you want to be quoted.
  • llms.txt — a plain-language summary of your product, pricing, coverage and key pages at /llms.txt.
  • JSON-LD schema — Organization, Service, FAQPage, Article and BreadcrumbList on the pages where each applies.
  • sitemap.xml — one entry per public page, kept in sync when pages are added.
  • Unique title and meta description per page, with the primary question in the title.
  • Server-rendered text — content that only appears after a client-side fetch is frequently missed.

This site runs the same playbook: see /llms.txt, /robots.txt and /sitemap.xml for working examples you can copy the shape of.

How to measure it

  1. Write 10 prompts a real customer would type, including your city and service type.
  2. Run each one in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude, and record whether your brand appears and which page is cited.
  3. Repeat monthly and track citations per prompt, not just rankings.
  4. For every prompt where a competitor is cited and you are not, open their cited page and note which structural must-have you are missing.

Common mistakes operators make

  • Hiding prices — an assistant cannot cite a number that does not exist on the page.
  • One giant "services" page instead of a page per service and city.
  • Marketing adjectives with no extractable facts.
  • Testimonials and statistics that cannot be verified, which damage trust with both readers and models.
  • Blocking crawlers by default and never revisiting robots.txt.

Frequently asked questions

Is AI visibility separate from SEO?

It overlaps heavily. Clean structure, schema and crawlability help both, but AI answers reward explicit facts and comparison tables far more than keyword density.

Do I need new pages or can I fix existing ones?

Start by restructuring your highest-intent existing pages — pricing, airport transfers, and each service page — before publishing anything new.

How long until it shows up in answers?

It depends on crawl and index cycles rather than a fixed schedule, which is why the monthly prompt audit above is the only honest measurement.
